About Congressman
Nick LaLota
Born and raised on Long Island, Congressman Nick LaLota has a lifelong commitment to public service and community. Growing up in a family of first responders and veterans, he learned early on the value of hard work, integrity, and sacrifice for the greater good.
Following his graduation from the United States Naval Academy, Nick served as a Surface Warfare Officer, completing three deployments and attaining the rank of Lieutenant. His military service deepened his sense of purpose and provided him with a unique perspective on national security and veteran affairs.
In local government, Nick has served as an Amityville Village Trustee and a Suffolk County Board of Elections Commissioner. His roles as Chief of Staff for the Suffolk County Legislature allowed him to tackle fiscal challenges and advocate for transparency and accountability in local administration.
Now representing New York’s 1st Congressional District, Nick is a steady voice for Long Island families. He remains focused on ensuring public safety, supporting local businesses, and fighting for the resources our veterans deserve, all while maintaining the high quality of life that defines our community.
